Want a role where your work genuinely helps protect water for future generations?
We’re looking for a Consumption Leader to shape how customers use water, influence behaviour at scale, and deliver meaningful change across our region.
This is a senior leadership role within our Billing, Collections & Consumption team, with real ownership of water-saving strategies, customer engagement programmes and regulatory outcomes.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll lead the strategic direction and delivery of behaviour-change initiatives that support key performance commitments (PCC and CMEX), ensuring customers are engaged, informed and motivated to use water wisely.
That means:
- Designing and delivering customer engagement and behaviour-change strategies
- Working closely with regulators and external partners (EA, Ofwat, Defra and industry groups)
- Shaping and delivering plans within the Water Resources Management Plan (WRMP) and AMP programmes
- Leading water-saving initiatives including smart meter consumption journeys, customer side leakage and smart devices
- Managing and inspiring Consumption Project Managers to deliver joined-up, customer-first outcomes
- Using insight and segmentation to tailor messages that genuinely resonate
- Collaborating with Communications, Operations and Customer Services to deliver consistent, impactful messaging
- Use data to drive performance and enhance digital customer journeys

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
