Contact Centre Advisor – Permanent/Part-Time

Registration Centre Application Deadline: 9 July 2026 Location: London, Westfield Avenue Employment Type: Permanent (Part-Time) or Fixed-Term (Full-Time) Reporting To: Richard Hainsworth Compensation: £28,222 – £30,023 per year or pro-rata for part-time


About the Role

The Contact Centre is the primary support function for the NMC (Nursing and Midwifery Council), serving as the first point of contact for all customers. You will deliver exceptional service—handling queries, resolving issues, and maintaining a professional image across all interactions.

Two Contract Options Available:

  • A fixed-term, full-time contract (ending December 2026).
  • A permanent, part-time position (28.8 hours/week, 4 days/week). Please specify your preferred option(s) in your application.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service across all touchpoints.
  • Respond to all communications in line with the NMC tone of voice.
  • Support registrants internationally with diverse query types.
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards (monitoring reviews, performance targets).
  • Maintain records in relevant systems and update operational documents.
  • Collaborate effectively in team meetings and contribute ideas.
  • Actively manage performance development, communicating openly with your Team Manager about strengths and growth areas.

Additional Information

  • Flexible team placement: Initial assignments will be team-specific, but reallocation can occur based on workflow (no impact on terms).

  • Hybrid policy: Requires pro-rata office attendance (full-time: 2 days/week; part-time: maths to logistically match your hours).

  • Pay structure: New hires typically start at the bottom of the pay band, though rare exceptions may apply (evidence of salary may be requested). Regular salary reviews with a progressive approach.
