Contact Centre ASC Supervisor – Surrey County Council

Job Summary

Starting salary: £42,958 per annum (36-hour working week) Hybrid possibility: Opportunity to work from home part-time post-induction.

About The Team

The Contact Centre ASC Team (Information and Advice Service) sits within Customer Services, known for its supportive, innovative culture and commitment to high-quality standards. You’ll act as the front door for Adult Social Care referrals, signposting residents to community resources and supporting complex care enquiries.

About The Role

As the public voice of the Council, you’ll:

  • Lead and develop a team of up to 8 Advisory and Information Officers, ensuring high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Prioritise, triage, and manage new referrals from residents, professionals, and partner agencies via portal, email, and telephony.
  • Support decision-making across workforce planning, recruitment, and organisational adjustments.
  • Drive data-informed changes, using analytics to improve service quality and efficiency.
  • Develop subject-matter expertise for Local Government Reorganisation (LGR) projects.
  • Ensure robust performance management through coaching, training, and performance-driven developmental conversations.
  • Respond effectively to fluctuating demands during real-time operations.
  • Collaborate with Adult Social Care/AWHP colleagues, Customer Services, and external partners.

Critical skills required:

  • Exceptional judgment, resilience, and the ability to drive improvement independently.
  • Regular supervision is minimal; you’ll own project leads and cross-functional outcomes.

Your Application – Key Criteria

To be shortlisted, demonstrate evidence of:

✅ High-level customer care – Expertise in professional service delivery. ✅ Leadership experience – Previous role as Manager, Supervisor, or Team Leader in a high-pressure setting. ✅ Knowledge of safeguarding & Adult Social Care policies, including risk assessment skills. ✅ Advanced IT proficiency – Literacy in databases, critical data accuracy, and strong attention to detail. ✅ Flexibility & Collaboration – Ability to work flexibly, autonomously, and as part of a team. ✅ Stakeholder management – Alignment with Surrey CC’s People Policies and experience in people management. ✅ Communication – Clear spoken and written English, with strong professional and interpersonal skills.
