Content Designer

Content Designer (Public Sector)

Day Rate: £500 - £550 (potential flexibility)

Location: Ideally North of England (but open to travel to Manchester, Leeds, or Midlands ~few times a month)

Engagement Type: Outside IR35

Start Date: Immediate

Requirements: Eligible for Security Check (SC) clearance


We’re seeking content designers for our digital services consultancy, began with public sector projects, evolving into private sector opportunities for experienced professionals.


About the Role

You’ll work alongside:

  • User researchers
  • Interaction designers
  • Service designers

on high-impact public sector digital projects, using content design to improve user outcomes.

This isn’t just writing—it’s decision-making about content’s purpose, placement, and accessibility. You’ll:

  • Translate complex policy into clear service design
  • Advocate for users within stakeholder-driven constraints
  • Navigate GOV.UK-style guidelines (and challenge them where evidence warrants)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in agile environments
