Join the WhatsApp Content Design team and help shape new forms of connection, expression, and utility at WhatsApp’s global scale. This role will support Broadcast products, mainly Status—a space that prioritizes expression and is table stakes for WhatsApp business priorities. In this role you'll help steer WhatsApp-specific feature development and transparency. You’ll also work closely with Broadcast leads on design systems, quality, cross-pillar integrations, and decision-making. This is a short term employment (STE) position.
Responsibilities
- Design end-to-end content experiences for complex product surfaces, including UI copy, onboarding flows, error messaging, and in-product guidance across Meta's technology platforms
- Translate technically complex concepts — including AI-generated features, developer tools, and emerging technology capabilities — into clear, user-centered language
- Collaborate with product designers, researchers, engineers, and product managers to define content strategy and information architecture for new and evolving product areas
- Develop and maintain content frameworks, voice and tone guidelines, and terminology standards that scale across product teams and platforms
- Conduct content audits and apply findings to improve consistency, clarity, and usability across product surfaces
- Use data, user research, and A/B testing insights to evaluate content effectiveness and iterate on copy to improve user comprehension and task completion
- Contribute to team-level content design goals by identifying gaps in existing systems and proposing scalable solutions
- Communicate content rationale and tradeoffs clearly to cross-functional partners and leaders, influencing product decisions through well-reasoned content recommendations
- Leverage AI tools to accelerate content exploration, prototype copy variations, and streamline documentation and review workflows
- Openly share project progress and priorities with key stakeholders, incorporating feedback loops into the content design process

Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years’ experience in UX writing
- Examples of finished wireframes, or design mocks co-authored using design tools, that have been used to drive decision-making within a team
- Experience in simplifying and communicating complex ideas to broad audiences in a compelling way
- Familiarity with tools for managing and updating content at scale
- Examples of work in design systems and systems thinking
- Demonstrated experience leading projects with minimal direction and handling a large degree of ambiguity

Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with information architecture principles and experience contributing to end-to-end product design processes alongside UX designers
- Track record of contributing to or establishing content design standards at a team or organizational level
- Experience working across multiple product lines or platforms simultaneously, adapting content systems to varied user contexts and technical constraints
- Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
- Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
- Experience designing content for AI-powered product experiences, conversational interfaces, or natural language interaction models
- Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
