Every landscape has a story. Every project has a purpose. We're looking for someone with the creative instinct to bring both to life through exceptional photographic editing, narrative-driven videos, and compelling visual storytelling. At Oxygen Conservation, every week brings new stories; restoring peatlands, planting forests, following estate managers across some of the UK's most extraordinary landscapes, and documenting projects that genuinely matter. We're looking for a Content Editor Intern to help us tell those stories. You'll report directly to our Photographer & Videographer, Ben Marshall, and work alongside our Content Lead, Penny-Mai Bullivant, editing documentary-style content, planning shoots, supporting filming days, and helping shape the creative direction of one of the UK's most ambitious conservation brands.

If you're looking for an internship where you'll spend six months making coffee, this isn't it. If you want to leave with a portfolio you're genuinely proud of, keep reading.

About You

You're curious. You care about the details. You probably spend longer choosing the right music, transition or colour grade than you should. You enjoy making beautiful work, but you also enjoy creating organised systems. You understand that great content isn't just created in the edit—it starts with planning, collaboration and a workflow that allows everyone else to do their best work.

Above all, you want to improve. You'll be surrounded by experienced creatives, expected to contribute ideas, and trusted with real projects from day one.

We're looking for:

Impact

  • Create Imagery That Feels Like Our Brand: Transform RAW photography into polished, consistent visual assets through thoughtful colour grading, retouching and finishing. Every image should feel unmistakably Oxygen.
  • Tell Stories People Remember: Edit films that reveal the people, places and projects behind our estates. From following an Estate Manager through their day to documenting peatland restoration or capturing the impact of thousands of newly planted trees, you'll build narratives that make audiences care.
  • Solve Creative Problems: Not every project is a documentary. Some weeks you'll design website graphics, social assets or campaign visuals. Other weeks you'll experiment with new formats, AI tools or entirely new ways of communicating our work. Variety is part of the role.
  • Always Improving The Workflow: You're comfortable with Lightroom, Photoshop and Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve, but you don't stop there. You're interested in AI, automation and new creative tools that make editing faster, smarter and better. We love people who question existing processes and build better ones.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Environment

  • Find The Story Beneath The Footage: Our work spans thousands of acres and hundreds of projects. Your job isn't simply to cut clips together—it's to uncover the moments that explain why our work matters. Whether that's following an Estate Manager, documenting biodiversity surveys or showing the transformation of a landscape over time, you'll help turn conservation into compelling stories.
  • Bring Order To Creativity: Great content starts long before the edit and lasts long after export. You'll help plan shoots, build storyboards, organise footage, maintain our shared media library and create workflows that make collaboration effortless. An organised editor is a better editor.

Adventure

  • Comfortable Behind And Beside The Camera: You don't need years of filming experience, but you understand the basics of cameras and production. On larger filming days you may be another pair of hands—setting up equipment, helping capture content and supporting the wider team across our estates.

Together

  • Shape Stories Before They're Filmed: Great edits begin before record is pressed. You'll work with Ben to plan shoots, build shot lists, develop creative ideas and think through how every story should unfold before stepping onto an estate.
  • Part Of The Production Team: You may be pulled in to join filming days across our estates, helping wherever needed—from carrying kit and checking batteries to suggesting shots and keeping productions running smoothly. You'll never be expected to film alone, but you'll quickly become an important part of every shoot.

And let's be honest, you must be really nice too. Sharing snacks on long estate days or a packed lunch in the rain is mandatory!

We believe in recruiting exceptional people and giving them the space to do brilliant things. You might have skills in some, but not all, of the areas above — whatever your background, if you think you can make a real creative contribution to what we're building, we'd love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Photo Editing: Colour correcting, image enhancement, and brand-styled finishing of content from Ben's shoots — prepared for use across social, campaigns, and the website. Primary tools: Lightroom, Photoshop.
  • Estate Video Editing: Documentary-style editing of estate content — tree planting projects, peatland restoration, estate manager vlogs — in Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve.
  • Story-Planning: Working with Ben ahead of shoots to develop stories, agree shot lists, and plan the edit narrative so production and post-production are aligned from the start.
  • Filming Support: Supporting multi-person shoot days on estate — helping with kit, logistics, and on-the-ground production. No solo filming required.
  • File Management: Maintaining a well-organised media library in shared and personal libraries — consistent naming conventions, clear folder structures, and easy retrieval for the wider team.
  • Miscellaneous Creative Edits: Ad hoc design and edit work across formats — LCAW billboards, website headers, BNG visualisations, and other brand assets as needed.

About Us

We're building the UK's first genuine Natural Capital portfolio — acquiring large landscapes, restoring them, and creating investable natural capital products like premium carbon credits, biodiversity units, renewable energy partnerships, and ecotourism experiences.

In just four years, we've grown to a valuation of around £300m with 50,000+ acres owned and helped connect over half a million acres for nature.

In 2026, we repositioned into three distinct but connected divisions: Oxygen Conservation (operational delivery on our estates), Oxygen Capital (our institutional-grade capital management arm), and Oxygen Intelligence (our proprietary data and analytics platform). Our marketing team sits across all three — building a brand that is as credible to institutional investors as it is compelling to the communities where we work.

Our mission is simple: prove that restoring ecosystems can deliver transformative environmental, social, and financial returns.

Our work hasn't gone unnoticed. In 2022 we were named Start-Up of the Year at the Business Leader South West Awards, followed by Team of the Year at the 2023 Edie Awards. Our founder and CEO, Dr Rich Stockdale, features in the ENDS Power List as one of the top 100 UK environmental professionals driving significant impact.

Key Information

  • Term and Start Date: Fixed term (3 months), starting 1 September 2026
  • Location: Remote (UK-based) with occasional travel to our estates
  • Salary: £26,500 pro rata
  • Closing Date: We don't advertise a fixed closing date for this role — we close as soon as we find the right people.
  • Support: Travel and subsistence costs covered during your internship
