Role Purpose and Key Responsibilities

As Content Lead (Professional Development & Learning), you will lead the development and delivery of high-quality, sector-specific content across multiple channels, including journals, isurv, podcasts, and rics.org.

You will own the content roadmap for your assigned areas, balancing member needs, regulatory accuracy, and organisational priorities, and ensuring content is delivered, maintained, and optimised for impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the end-to-end delivery of content, including commissioning, writing, editing, publishing, and ongoing refresh and optimisation.
  • Develop and manage content plans across multiple formats (articles, podcasts, videos, case law updates, event outputs), ensuring relevance and quality.
  • Build and manage a network of subject matter experts and contributors, ensuring clear briefs, deadlines, and high-quality outputs.
  • Manage and continuously improve content hubs and standards-related pages, ensuring content remains current and engaging.
  • Use analytics, SEO, and performance data to optimise content discovery, engagement, and user experience.
  • Operate within editorial governance frameworks, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and appropriate sign-off for all published content.

About You

You are an experienced content professional with strong editorial judgement and a passion for producing high-quality, user-focused content. You are comfortable working with technical subject matter, managing contributors, and taking ownership of content delivery in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.

Skills & Experience:

  • Experience commissioning, developing, and managing content across multiple formats and channels.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical information.
  • Strong stakeholder-management skills, particularly working with subject matter experts and contributor networks.
  • Experience using CMS platforms and performance data to manage and improve digital content.
  • Strong organisational skills, able to manage multiple deadlines and maintain content pipelines.
  • Collaborative, proactive, and solution-focused, with the ability to work across teams and adapt to changing priorities.
