Content Marketer – Organic Content Strategy Lead

We’re seeking a Content Marketer to shape OakNorth’s organic content strategy across Lending, Business Banking, and Personal Savings. This is a growth-focused role, ideal for someone who blends editorial expertise with a commercial outlook, creating valuable, search-driven content that attracts, educates, and converts customers over time.


The Role

You’ll develop and execute an organic content strategy to deliver measurable growth—including evergreen assets, thought leadership, and conversion-focused guides. Collaborating with Product Marketing, Growth, Product, and Commercial teams, you’ll turn complex financial topics into clear, compelling narratives that drive customer interest and demand.

Key responsibilities include:

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead OakNorth’s organic content strategy across:
    • Lending
    • Business Banking
    • Personal Savings
  • Create high-impact content, including:
    • Articles, blogs, guides, and explainers
    • Reports, lead magnets, and flagship pieces
    • Thought leadership content
  • Simplify financial complexities—making industry jargon accessible and compelling
  • Leverage SEO, AI, and data to:
    • Identify high-opportunity topics
    • Optimise existing content
    • Conduct structured experiments to improve performance
  • Curate & upskill content writers & experts to ensure accuracy, consistency, and brand alignment
  • Plan and refine editorial calendars, aligning with commercial goals and customer needs
  • Maintain OakNorth’s distinct tone of voice across all content

Requirements & Experience

Must-Haves

  • Proven track record as content writer, journalist, or editorial lead
  • Expertise in writing, editing, and storytelling for diverse audiences
  • Experience crafting long-form content (e.g., articles, reports, thought leadership)
  • Ability to simplify complex financial topics while maintaining clarity and accuracy
  • Critical thinking, attention to detail, and structured approach
  • Comfort managing multi-faceted content efforts across different products/themes
  • Confidence interviewing stakeholders and subject matter experts
