What are we looking for?

We are seeking a results-driven Content Marketing Manager to bring to life the content strategy driving growth through content marketing initiatives. The role will be on a Full time, fixed term basis for 12 months.

The role requires a person who is able to work in, and thrive, in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. The Content Marketing Manager also has a high level of creativity blended with a passion for driving change in the business through technology. They will also be highly familiar with the best trends and practices in SEO, site development, and digital and social media marketing. The role of the Content Marketing Specialist is also occupied by a person with a high level of creativity, project management skills and attention to detail.

They will be an experienced line manager who is committed to driving change and delivering measurable results, while also ensuring the continuous improvement of digital assets and overall brand visibility. They will work with our Director of Content Marketing, external agencies and our partners as well as the internal teams.

Key responsibilities

  • Support the Director of Content and Communications by overseeing a team responsible for the execution of the content strategies for CEG partners and developing new ideas for content assets and initiatives.
  • Own the management of CEG Digital websites and blog sites, responsible for ensuring that websites have compelling content, navigation, structure/design, localization, and landing pages that will make content easily digestible by the audience.
  • Drive the development of blogs for all brands through working with an in-house copywriter and university academics, and tracking content performance in order to increase website traffic and conversion rates.
  • Lead the optimisation efforts based on digital analytics and audience research/user needs alongside external support to optimise website conversions, increase traffic and improve both on-page SEO and off-page SEO analysis and execution; improving organic search engine performance and setting goals based on click through rates, conversions, and traffic.
  • Conduct market research and develop an understanding of the online/digital education industry and CEG Digital programmes unique value proposition and product’s market differentiators. Leverage this expertise to position CEG Digital programmes as market leaders with a distinct value proposition.
  • Manage content projects that segment specific marketing programs and enhances CEG Digital market awareness for the purpose of driving sales leads, and ultimately helping in sales growth.
  • Work with the marketing, academic and sales teams to coordinate and manage the creation of relevant content from initial brief through to delivery that is up to standard and meets the stakeholders’ as well as consumers’ needs.

Person Specification

Experience

  • Experience in the conception and creation of content marketing strategies and digital marketing.
  • Knowledge and experience of traditional and digital marketing.
  • Experience working within a marketing environment with exposure to digital content campaign management, and tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of and an interest in Higher Education, educational content and its digital landscape.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of baseline online marketing including SEO, analytics, website design and CMS, ROI analysis, PPC campaigns, content development, keyword research and selection.

Skills

  • Excellent project management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to negotiate efficiently and effectively, and manage people’s expectations in high pressure environments.
  • Excellent organisational and administration skills, with the ability to prioritise workload and manage conflicting deadlines in a dynamic and fast moving environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of producing effective marketing copy as well as excellent proofing and subbing skills.
