Content Marketing Specialist

Don’t Panic are looking for a highly creative and organised Content Marketing Specialist to join our marketing team.

The Details

  • Salary: £28-30k dependent on experience
  • Hybrid role: 2 days per week required in our Rawtenstall office
  • Hours: 37.5hrs a week, Monday - Friday
  • Flexi-working: Core hours 9am - 2pm
  • Holiday package: Competitive

Please note our offices are based in Rawtenstall, which is not easily accessible by public transport. Unless you live locally, access to a car may be required.

About the Role

The Content Marketing Specialist is responsible for driving traffic, engagement, leads, and brand awareness through the creation and distribution of high-quality content across multiple digital channels. Working closely with the Head of Marketing, Creative Team and wider team, you will create compelling content that supports event launches, entry campaigns, ticket sales, community engagement, and customer retention.

You will be responsible for creating and distributing content across email, social media, websites, and other channels, ensuring all communications align with brand guidelines and commercial objectives. The ideal candidate will have exceptional writing skills, strong experience, and the ability to use data and insights to continuously improve performance.

This role requires a brand publisher mindset: creating the content our audience is looking for, utilising CRM and AI tools, and delivering it through the right channels, and optimising performance to support business goals.

Position Overview

Reporting to the Head of Marketing, the Content Marketing Specialist is responsible for the effective delivery of content marketing across the Don't Panic events portfolio and client events where required.

Requirements of the Role

  • Degree or equivalent experience in Marketing, English, Creative Writing, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3-4 years' experience in a similar content marketing role.
  • Excellent creative writing and copywriting skills.
  • 2-3 years of experience with current digital marketing strategies and best practices.
  • Management of digital content hubs and supporting social media channels, as well as email.
  • Understanding of audience segmentation, data management, and CRM best practices.
  • Experience creating content tailored to different platforms, audiences, and stages of the customer journey.
  • Management and maintenance of annual content calendars across multiple campaigns and projects.
  • Ability to leverage AI tools responsibly to support content creation, improve efficiency, streamline processes, and identify opportunities for marketing innovation while maintaining quality and brand standards.
  • Measuring the results of marketing activity to inform future campaigns, including producing regular reports to track performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Proactive attitude with the ability to generate new and engaging content ideas.
  • High level of written and verbal communication skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail with impeccable punctuation, spelling, and grammar.
  • Ability to write in a variety of styles, tones, and formats.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining a high standard of work.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously across a busy events portfolio.
  • Ability to work independently and remotely when required.
  • Ability to travel occasionally to events either nationally or internationally to deliver social media requirements and facilitate video interviews with stakeholders.
  • Collaborate effectively with the wider Don't Panic team and external stakeholders.
  • Understanding of how to brief creative teams to support content production.
  • Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships that result in stable, consistent, reliable, and courteous communication with all parties.
  • Experience with online community building and audience engagement.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office, CRM platforms, AI Tools and social media management tools.

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Understanding of Search, SEO and content optimisation.
  • Experience using WordPress or similar CMS platforms.
  • Experience working with CRM systems such as HubSpot for email marketing and audience segmentation.
  • Experience using AI tools to support content workflows, research, campaign planning, and process improvement.
  • Experience working in an agency or fast-paced marketing environment.
  • Experience working on Canva or Adobe is desirable.
