Your Role
As a content strategist, you will be joining our growing Digital Excellence team. We are all passionate about user-centred design, critical thinking, problem solving and designing and building digital services and products.
You will shape the strategic direction, maturity, and impact of content across our UCD capability; leading teams, developing capability, and embedding high-quality, inclusive content practices across complex digital programmes.
What You'll Do
Content strategy & planning
Develop content frameworks, messaging hierarchies, tone of voice guidance, and editorial standards Define end to end content strategies aligned to business goals, user needs, and brand principles Lead content audits, gap analyses, and roadmap creation Establish content governance models, authoring workflows and approval processes Integrate responsible and sustainable AI content creation into workflows
Deliver user-centred products and services
Set clear content vision and direction across end-to-end journeys Ensure research, analytics, and service data is used continuously to improve content Champion accessibility, inclusive design, and standards compliance
Working with clients and growing our business
Build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders Lead and contribute to bids, proposals, and pitches Ensure content design work is well scoped and resourced Support thought leadership and proposition development Leading our teams Lead, mentor, and coach designers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement Recruit, develop, and retain top content professionals aligned with business needs, ensuring growth of the Content Design capability Support us in nurturing the design community through training, events, and capability development initiatives

Your Profile
Experience in hands-on delivery and team leadership, ideally within a consulting or agency environment Confident working with content in agile, iterative environments and collaborating closely with technical and delivery teams Proven experience managing and leading designers Strong stakeholder and client management skills, with experience presenting to and influencing senior audiences Proven track record of developing and growing design talent, fostering a high-performing and inclusive team culture Experience establishing and refining UCD processes from shaping the strategy to scaling and improving ways of working Experience using AI tooling such as Claude, ChatGPT

Whilst you will have London, Manchester or Glasgow as an office base location, you must be fully flexible in terms of assignment location, as these roles may involve periods of time away from home at short notice.
