The opportunity
This role is responsible for improving the performance, consistency and design of our warehouse and logistics processes. Working within the Analyst and Automation team, you will own the documentation and analysis of end-to-end operational processes across inbound, storage, fulfilment and outbound logistics activity.
You will act as the process subject matter expert for warehouse operations, translating day-to-day activity into structured process documentation and evidence based improvement opportunities. The role works across multiple functions including Customer Care, Finance, Manufacturing and Key Accounts to ensure logistics processes are fully connected across the wider business and not improved in isolation.
What you'll be doing:
Own and maintain warehouse and logistics process documentation, ensuring SOPs, process maps and supporting materials are accurate, controlled and up to date. Maintain a full understanding of “as-is” warehouse processes including goods-in, put away, picking, packing, dispatch, returns and stock control. Analyse operational processes using observation, stakeholder input and performance data to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities. Design improved “to-be” processes and assess feasibility against operational, system and physical warehouse constraints. Carry out impact assessments and gap analysis for proposed process changes. Define and track baseline and post-change performance metrics to measure improvement outcomes. Support testing activity for ERP, WMS and logistics system changes. Facilitate workshops with operational teams and stakeholders to define and agree process improvements. Act as subject matter expert for warehouse and logistics processes, supporting clarity and consistency across teams. Work cross-functionally to ensure process handovers and dependencies between departments are clearly understood and aligned.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
