Job Description

This role plays a key part in identifying, shaping, and delivering impactful change across our transport network, working in close partnership with operational teams and third-party logistics (3PL) providers to drive performance, efficiency, and cost effectiveness.

With a strong focus on data-led decision making, the role translates operational challenges into practical, sustainable solutions, owning improvement activity from identification through to implementation and benefit realisation. From analysing transport performance and uncovering efficiency opportunities to supporting network-wide improvement initiatives, the position combines analytical thinking with hands-on delivery.

The role also works collaboratively with stakeholders across the business to ensure improvement opportunities are prioritised, tracked, and embedded effectively, using performance insight and structured governance to deliver measurable outcomes and support wider business objectives.

We're looking for someone with strong analytical capability, able to interpret complex operational data, identify root causes, and turn insight into action. A technically confident individual, comfortable using tools such as Excel and Power BI to monitor performance, measure success, and support evidence-based decision making.

The ideal candidate will be a proactive and structured problem solver with excellent stakeholder management skills, able to influence, challenge constructively, and build strong relationships across a broad network. A resilient, self-motivated mindset is key, alongside a passion for continuous improvement and delivering tangible results in a fast-paced logistics environment.

NB: This role is based out of our Castle Donington but some travel across our transport Network will be required

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
