About the Role
Provide process expertise alongside critical skills in validation, process optimisation and problem-solving. Support and deliver projects from the Project Portfolio, collaborating closely with all teams to embed Continuous Improvement (CI) at every organisational level and ensure constant enhancement of deliverables. Embed and drive Convatec’s core mission, values, and priorities, managing multiple projects—each varying in complexity.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform IQ, OQ, and PQ validation
- Update and maintain change control systems and associated documentation
- Identify and deliver cost savings
- Adhere to legal, corporate and site legislation, including procedures
- GMP compliance and uphold industry standards
- EHS compliance and uphold standards
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, clearly sequencing all activities for successful and timely delivery
- Seek and deliver CI opportunities across the site
- Manage complex projects, ensuring timelines and budgets are met

Skills & Experience
Essential
- Proven experience in Manufacturing Continuous Improvement (CI) roles
- In-depth understanding of risk management for medical devices
- Specialised expertise in problem-solving (CAPA & NCs) (Corrective and Preventive Actions / Non-Conformities)
- Hands-on experience in lean manufacturing environments
- In-depth knowledge of all processes and equipment in the assigned factory
- Acquaintance with external regulatory requirements, specifically:
- GAMP5
- FDA & MHRA
- EHS legislation
- Manufacturing standards
- Demonstrated project and time management skills:
- Strong track record of creating plans and meeting deadlines
- Ability to balance multiple, competing priorities
- Exceptional interpersonal skills
- Proactive, collaborative, and adaptable demeanour
Desirable
- Six Sigma Green Belt certification
- PC skills:
- SAP
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- MS Project
- CAD software
- Experienced in IQ, OQ, PQ validation principles
- Familiarity with advanced problem-solving tools
- Completion of Kaizen Leadership certifications
- Qualifications in Project Management such as:
- PRINCE2 Practitioner or
- Project Management Professional (PMP)
Travel Requirements
Up to 15% of time for travel, including:
- Domestic trips to other Convatec manufacturing sites
- Travel to supplier facilities (international or domestic)

Working Conditions
- Onsite roles based at either the Deeside or Rhymney manufacturing site.
- Mixed work environment: primarily office-based, with time spent on the shop-floor and clean-room.
- Flexibility to support across shifts and weekends as needed.
