A large, well-known public sector organisation is currently recruiting a Continuous Improvement Specialist on an interim basis.
Based in central London, you will have the opportunity to work as part of a collaborative team focused on delivering organisational efficiency, innovation, and service improvement.
This assignment will start off as a 3-month interim assignment but it is highly likely to be extended until the end of March and maybe beyond.
The rate for this role will be £350 per day umbrella and will be offered hybrid with 2 days attendance required on site per week.
You would need to be able to start soon so the maximum notice period they would consider is 1 week.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an analytical and solutions-focused professional to support the delivery of a major organisational improvement programme aimed at identifying efficiencies and enhancing the way services are delivered across the organisation.
You will work closely with stakeholders at all levels to investigate existing processes, analyse data, identify opportunities for improvement, and support the implementation of sustainable business changes. Using continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma, you will help drive measurable improvements in efficiency, quality, and customer outcomes.
Working as part of a wider project team, you will facilitate workshops, undertake process mapping, build business cases, and support the successful embedding of new ways of working across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
- Identify areas of waste, inefficiency, and improvement opportunities across business functions and services.
- Engage with stakeholders and subject matter experts to define project scopes, objectives, and success measures.
- Map current ("as-is") processes and assess performance, effort, quality, and value-add activities.
- Develop data collection plans and analyse quantitative and qualitative information to identify root causes and improvement opportunities.
- Create meaningful data visualisations and reports to support evidence-based decision making.
- Facilitate workshops, solution design sessions, user story development, prioritisation exercises, and testing activities.
- Produce future-state ("to-be") process maps and contribute to business cases for proposed improvements.
- Support implementation activities, including communications, training materials, rollout planning, and transition into business-as-usual operations.
- Build effective relationships across departments and provide regular progress updates to project stakeholders.
The Ideal Candidate
You will be a naturally curious and analytical individual with experience using data and stakeholder engagement to drive meaningful business improvements. You will be comfortable working across multiple projects and able to translate complex information into practical recommendations.

- Experience working collaboratively across teams to deliver change and improvement initiatives.
- Strong experience analysing data to identify problems, trends, and potential solutions.
- Experience producing reports, presentations, and findings for a variety of audiences.
- Ability to work creatively within constraints and identify innovative solutions to business challenges.
- Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Confident communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience gathering and interpreting both qualitative and quantitative data to support customer-focused improvements.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Good knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications and other business technologies.
- Awareness of project delivery methodologies such as Agile and PRINCE2 would be advantageous.
