Job Title: Continuous Improvement Specialist

Location: Torquay

Salary: Up to £46,000

Shift: Monday - Friday / 8-4

Job Role of the Continuous Improvement Specialist

This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established manufacturing business operating within a fast-paced production environment supplying into the construction and building products sector.

The successful candidate will play a key role in driving continuous improvement activity across manufacturing processes, operational performance, productivity, waste reduction, and workflow optimization. Working as part of the central Business Improvement team, the role will focus on embedding a stronger continuous improvement culture across the site, working closely with operational leaders and shop floor teams to deliver measurable operational improvements.

The role will suit a hands-on Continuous Improvement professional who enjoys balancing shop floor involvement with project-based improvement work and is comfortable influencing teams within a traditional manufacturing environment.

Sector - Manufacturing / Continuous Improvement

Non-Negotiable Requirements of the Continuous Improvement Specialist

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt minimum
  • Minimum 10 years' practical Continuous Improvement / Operational Improvement experience
  • Manufacturing or production environment background
  • Proven experience delivering measurable operational improvements
  • Strong operational understanding alongside CI capability

Essential Requirements of the Continuous Improvement Specialist

  • Experience driving productivity, quality, waste, and process improvements
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and shop floor communication skills
  • Experience analyzing operational data and KPIs
  • Ability to influence teams and drive cultural change
  • Comfortable working within legacy manufacturing environments
  • Strong people and organizational skills

Requirements of the Continuous Improvement Specialist

  • Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma methodology experience
  • Root Cause Analysis experience
  • Ability to balance strategic projects with operational shop floor involvement
  • Continuous Improvement project delivery experience
  • Strong communication and relationship-building ability
  • Positive attitude with a resilient and pragmatic approach
