Contracts Advisor – Risk & Compliance

We are recruiting for a Contracts Advisor to join our in-house Risk and Compliance team at TLT. You will play a central role in reviewing client contracts across the firm, helping to protect the firm’s interests while supporting strong, commercial client relationships.

The role focuses primarily on client terms, with occasional involvement in supplier contracts and wider compliance queries.

The Risk and Compliance team

The Risk and Compliance team advises on regulatory and operational risk across the firm, ensuring compliance with our professional and regulatory obligations. The team is commercially minded and includes experienced lawyers and technical specialists who apply practical, proportionate thinking to a wide range of regulatory and ethical requirements.

Your role

  • Review and draft client engagement terms, including client-drafted terms (such as outside counsel guidelines and panel terms) and the firm’s standard terms of business and engagement letters, working within the firm’s established contract playbook to ensure legal and commercial risks are appropriately managed.
  • Review supplier contracts and terms of service in collaboration with Procurement, liaising with relevant internal stakeholders to ensure proposed arrangements are suitable.
  • Advise partners and internal stakeholders on contractual and compliance queries, providing clear, commercial and risk-based guidance.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, acting as a trusted point of contact on client contract matters.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of precedent documents, guidance materials, contract playbooks and the firmwide database of client terms.
  • Identify legal, regulatory and commercial risks within client agreements, advise on deviations from standard terms and ensure appropriate approvals are obtained.
  • Keep up to date with regulatory developments and market practice, feeding insights into team guidance and materials.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
