The Flooring Co (UK) Ltd is a well-established commercial flooring contractor with over 30 years’ experience, delivering high-quality projects across London and the South East. We are now seeking an experienced Commercial Floor Layer to join our team on a consistent, long-term basis.
The Role
You’ll be installing a range of commercial flooring products across prestigious sites including:
- Hospitals
- Colleges
- Schools
- Offices
- Commercial refurbishments
You’ll work directly with our site managers and the client’s site team, ensuring seamless collaboration.

Key Responsibilities
- Installing:
- Safety/smooth vinyl
- Cap/cove flooring
- LVTs
- Carpet tiles
- Stick-down carpets
- All associated subfloor preparation
- Liaising daily with site managers and client teams
- Conducting on-site Defect Action Struck (DAS) checks as required by the Quantity Surveyor (QS)
- Programming and planning daily works efficiently
- Maintaining a high standard of finish and attention to detail
About You
You must have:
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in commercial contract flooring (essential)
- Full competency across:
- Vinyl installation
- LVT layout and fit
- Carpet tiles and subfloor preparation
- Strong problem-solving mindset with a can-do attitude
- Organised, confident, and capable of working independently or as part of a team
- A valid UK driving licence
- A current CSCS card (relevant to your role)
- Ability to provide at least two professional references
