Senior Contracts Manager
Location: C/O THE EDGE BUILDING, Charnwood Edge Business Park, 1 Syston Road, Cossington, Leicester, LE7 4UZ Department: Severn Trent Water Reports to: Managing Director Hours: 07:00–17:00, 45-hour week (including a lunch break)
Salary: Circa £60K DOE

About the Role
As Senior Contracts Manager at MTS Cleansing Services Ltd, you will play a pivotal role in managing strategic commercial agreements across our utilities and waste sectors. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this critical position requires a blend of contractual expertise, commercial insight, and exceptional relationship management to drive efficiency, mitigating risk and unlocking value.

Contract Management
- Draft, review, revise and approve a variety of contracts with clients.
- Maintain trusted, high-level relationships with stakeholders, ensuring alignment between contract expectations and business outcomes.
- Communicate contractual issues, addressing concerns and advising on both legal and business matters.
- Uphold a deep understanding of all assigned contracts, including pricing, processes, opportunities and risks.
Strategic Oversight
- Develop a commercial contract management strategy, including the deployment of a contract toolkit.
- Coordinate deadlines and budgets by monitoring spend, performance, KPIs, SLAs, and contractual obligations.
- Renew, extend and close contracts by collaborating with stakeholders for optimal outcomes.
- Implement contract database maintenance, ensuring supply continuity via expiry/renewal contingency planning.
- Serve as the lead point of contact for all contractual matters.
Risk & Value Creation
- Identify and manage risks, defining mitigation actions where necessary.
- Leverage portfolio analysis to partner strategically, optimising processes for added business value.
- Maintain accurate, well-managed internal contract documentation.
- Drive initiatives to unlock in-contract value, enhancing operational efficiency.
Stakeholder & Cultural Responsibilities
- Champion the company’s vision and values, embodying our ways of working (e.g., fostering collaborative support).
- Promote equality and inclusion through respectful, professional interactions.
- Provide guidance to teams on contract generation, business opportunities, and best practices.
- Support the organisation’s continuous growth and job security.

Requirements & Competencies
Experience & Specialism
- Proven senior management experience in utilities or waste industry roles.
- In-depth technical knowledge of contract and commercial management in complex environments.
- Broad expertise in contract development, negotiation, conflict resolution, and procurement processes.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and financial acumen is essential.
Skills & Attributes
- Strong negotiation & conflict resolution skills.
- Proficiency in Word and Excel; advantageous if experienced with Weighsoft.
- Exceptional communication skills for conveying advice to teams or management.
