Contract Manager

Contracts Manager

CCL Global is seeking a Contracts Manager to support the delivery of the company’s strategic goals by building value-adding supply chains with sustainable commercial relationships. Key objectives include:

  • Successfully achieve the award of all essential contracts for the construction, testing, commissioning, and operation of the company in accordance with the 2016 Utilities Contract Regulations, ensuring fair, transparent, and non-discriminatory processes.
  • Provide commercial support and decision-making across all contracts, ensuring they align with strategic project objectives and deliver measurable value for money.
  • Foster supply chain relationships that reinforce value, compliance with Development Agreement obligations, and associated Undertakings and Assurances.
  • Negotiate commercial agreements with third parties, coordinating interfaces and ensuring seamless integration across contracts and suppliers.
  • Guarantee the supply of necessary goods and services at all stages of the delivery lifecycle.

Responsibilities

The Assistant Contract Manager will report to the Contract Manager with primary accountabilities including:

  • Assisting the Contract Manager and Senior Contract Manager in managing a portfolio of corporate contracts.
  • Contributing to the administration of Ltd corporate contracts.
  • Aiding in drafting documents for change requests, ensuring alignment with company governance, systems, and stakeholder coordination.
  • Compiling documents for compliance checks against contract standards.
  • Producing contract management plans for each active contract.
  • Reviewing supplier performance against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and performance metrics.
  • Assisting in calculating service credits and warranty payments.
  • Ensuring value for money at every contract stage.
  • Proactively promoting Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI), complying with all organisational policies and initiatives.
  • Additional responsibilities may include:
    • Facilitating meetings and fostering information exchange across functional teams.
    • Providing ad-hoc support to high-profile projects.

  • Desirable qualifications: NEC Practitioner, MCIPS, or MRICS.

Experience Required

  • Commercial environment experience.
  • Prior experience in contract administration or commercial support roles.
  • Proven stakeholder and supplier management abilities.
  • Proficiency with programs like Excel, SAP, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, and Project.

Qualification Standards

Relevant competence is evaluated across a spectrum:

  2. (2) Practiced: Under supervision, primarily in non-complex situations.
  3. (3) Competent: Independently or with minimal supervision, often in moderate complexity.
  4. (4) Proficient: Critical evaluation and adaptation, independent handling of complex situations, mentoring others.
  5. (5) Expert/Strategic: Advanced evaluation, new theory/method development, recognition as leading expert, educating others, highly complex challenges.
