About The Project

Transport for London (TfL) has awarded Indra a long-term contract to operate, develop, enhance and expand ticketing and access control systems across London's transport network through to 2034, with extension options to 2039.

This programme covers the maintenance, operation and evolution of a large-scale, complex ecosystem, including turnstiles, validators, ticket machines, sales terminals, back-office systems, payment gateways, IT infrastructure and cybersecurity that supports over 8.6 million daily journeys.

Therefore, Indra will become TfL's strategic technology partner to guarantee the operation and evolution of the world's largest and most sophisticated ticketing system. Following a transition period of approximately two years, Indra will serve as the sole provider across the network that includes more than 8,500 buses, nearly 400 Underground stations, around 300 rail stations (Overground, DLR, Elizabeth Line and suburban services), 4,000 Oyster Card outlets, seven customer service centers, and 24 river boat boarding points.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Drawing on over 30 years of experience in urban public transport solutions, Indra will manage and evolve all aspects of the system. The project also envisages, in partnership with TfL, the implementation of new technologies to develop the system, make it more efficient and automate key processes; in short, to jointly create the next generation of the ticketing system for London.

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Contract Manager to lead the contractual management of a major UK-based project with a local client, focused on ticketing and revenue collection services, managing complex commercial arrangements within a regulated public-sector environment.

  • Support the re-procurement process, including contract drafting, evaluation, and negotiation with suppliers
  • Manage contract variations, amendments, and negotiations, ensuring all changes are robustly formalised
  • Ensure alignment with contract governance standards, identifying and managing contractual risks and non-compliance
  • Oversee commercial relationships with service providers, including operators of ticketing, fare collection, and associated systems
  • Review contractual documentation in coordination with Legal and Procurement, providing guidance to project leadership
  • Manage payment mechanisms, service performance regimes, SLAs, KPIs, and incentive/penalty frameworks
  • Assess and manage claims, variations, and disputes arising during contract execution
  • Develop and maintain contract management strategies and performance monitoring frameworks
  • Monitor supplier performance and lead improvement plans to ensure service quality and compliance
  • Ensure continuous alignment and reporting to the central Contract Management function in Madrid, following Indra standards, tools, and governance processes
