I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
You will collaborate with a diverse range of local and regional colleagues, working together to enhance supplier partnerships, improve customer experiences and foster team cooperation. This means you'll need to be a confident communicator who can build strong working relationships. You'll also play a key role in driving continuous improvement across our sites. This involves identifying and promoting enhancements, providing recommendations for re-engineering and improving existing operational solutions, all whilst fostering a culture of vigilance and responsible logistics.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are looking for someone who can read, analyse and digest large amounts of information and data to produce meaningful solutions and recommendations. You should be analytically minded with exceptional attention to detail, strong grammatical and linguistic skills, and a love for numbers and data. You should have strong skills in Microsoft Packages, with a specific confidence in Excel, particularly with pivot tables, formulas and macros.
There will be ad hoc travel to sites across the UK and sometimes within European/Global teams, so it's essential that you hold a driving license with your own car and are happy to travel internationally for business trips. It would be a bonus if you have LEAN or Six Sigma training and are knowledgeable about continuous improvement techniques.
As CEVA continues to embed digital tools and AI-supported solutions across our operations, it would be beneficial if you have some exposure to modern AI technologies. This could include using AI for data analysis, content summarisation, process automation, or supporting decision making. You don’t need to be an AI expert, but confidence in adopting new digital tools, a willingness to explore emerging technologies, and an interest in how AI can enhance contract review and continuous improvement activities will help you thrive in this role.
