The RoleAs a member of the Estates Delivery discipline within UK Defence Operations, the Contractor Control Co-ordinator (Estates and Capability) role will provide support to effectively deliver high quality services to our customers.
Your responsibilities will include:
To lead and co-ordinate the effective delivery management of contractors and control of work activities on site in accordance with all H&S policies and in particular the Construction Design Management (CDM) Regulations; including induction, permit raising and works monitoring To ensure all contractors are inducted bringing attention to the rules, safety procedures, hazards and emergency protocols on site To ensure the contractor is aware of their host and that the host is available to take charge of the contractor and deliver a weekly plan of sub-contracted works activities for the Delivery Leads Correct issuing of Permission to Proceed for contractors and notify the relevant owner of the task (Delivery Lead / PM / GL / TL) that contractors have attended in accordance with the plan To ensure that the H&S performance of contractors and in-house labour is regularly monitored using the Work Monitoring process and decide the frequency of works monitoring required To communicate proposed work to necessary stakeholders, ensuring that any work is, where possible, not conflicting with trials or activities
Essential experience of the Contractor Control Coordinator:
Previous experience of managing contractors and making sure they have all the required information needed for them to access site and work as efficiently as possible Strong organisation experience working with multiple stakeholders and contractors at any one point Computer literate and able to demonstrate a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other IT applications Experience and a strong understanding of engineering or facilities management / maintenance Working knowledge of the CDM Regulations IOSH/NEBOSH Managing Safety

Essential qualifications for the Contractor Control Coordinator:
To have attained a Level 3 NVQ in engineering or technical (or similar field) OR provide evidence of recent relevant administrative experience in a similar role Full driving licence

This role is 37 hours per week based at BUTEC, Kyle of Lochalsh and Applecross sites.
Travel to other QinetiQ and customer sites will be expected.
BUTEC BUTEC (British Underwater Test & Evaluation Centre) is a specialised facility focused on underwater testing and evaluation. It supports the development and assessment of various maritime systems including submarines and autonomous underwater vehicles. Working towards the advancement of underwater technology including innovations in sonar, navigation and communication systems in real-world scenarios.
