Contractor Escort – HMP Long Lartin (On-Site Contractor Role)
Salary: £27,426 per year Hours: 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday (8am–5pm), with an earlier finish on Fridays
About the Role
Amey is supporting His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS), helping to maintain 60 secure prisons across England and Wales through safe, clean, and efficient facilities management.
The Contractor Escort plays a critical role in ensuring planned and reactive maintenance in prisons is carried out safely, compliantly, and on time. You will:
- Oversee safety checks and contractor monitoring
- Conduct site inductions
- Provide flexible on-site support for contractors, aiding maintenance activities
- Help achieve zero-carbon objectives through strategic and lean operational approaches
- Maintain high health & safety (H&S) standards across the contract
What You Will Do
- Safety & Contractor Oversight
- Conduct pre-site safety checks for contractors
- Monitor safety compliance during maintenance work
- Site Inductions
- Manage introductions for new individuals entering the prison environment
- Flexible Support Roles
- Assist with operational duties where required, such as reporting issues, ensuring equipment use is secure, and supporting cross-functional prison operations
- Sustainability Commitment
- Support local and business zero-carbon initiatives with a focus on efficiency and compliance
- Health & Safety Leadership
- Ensure adherence to HMPPS safety policies and challenge any risks to workplace security
