Contracts Manager – Vistry Works (Midlands & South Yorkshire)
We have a great opportunity for a Contracts Manager to join our team within Vistry Works, covering numerous sites across the midlands & South Yorkshire.
About the Role
As our Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for the overall running of multiple timber frame sites, with a focus on planning, programming, and high-level issues. You'll oversee site/plot call-offs, coordinate personnel responsibly, and manage schedules for labour and materials across operational sites.
Key Responsibilities
Your role will involve:
- Processing tender call-offs and ensuring work is scheduled to minimise delays and maximise efficiency.
- Establishing coordinated programming that optimises labour and material allocation.
- Assisting with commercial bids and tender preparations for new business opportunities.
- Reviewing contract terms conditions, ensuring compliance with legal and commercial requirements.
- Regularly reviewing key documents (RAMS, build routes, fire assessment plans) and ensuring changes are communicated promptly.
- Supporting Health & Safety (H&S) compliance across all outlets, including documentation monitoring.
- Collaborating with Vistry Works factories, stakeholders, and external contractors to manage timelines and site operations.
- Chairing pre-start and pre-order meetings, as well as engaging with multi-disciplinary teams during construction phases.
- Developing process improvements and efficiencies in operations.
- Overseeing site and logistics programming while managing unexpected schedules.
- Resolving quality and £ cost adherence issues on site, reporting workshop progress, and escalating commercial concerns.
- Managing onsite erection teams, ensuring adherence to quality and production standards.
- Liaising with competitors, national sub-contractors, and direct labour to expand operational capabilities.

About You
We’re looking for a highly organised, detail-oriented professional with:
- Extensive experience in managing large-volume, fast-paced new build housing developments with a proven track record in Timber Frame/MMC production.
- Proficiency in construction workflows, including schedule micromanaging, budget adherence, and health & safety standards.
- Excellent command of MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), Coins, and Asta software.
- Demonstrable project and contract management experience, including tender-led bids, handover procedure, public compliance, and commercial strategies.
- A forward-thinking mindset capable of anticipating issues while maintaining strategic oversight.
- Strong leadership and stakeholder communication abilities, with an emphasis on engaging cross-functional teams.
- Full UK driving licence required, as role may require multi-location travel.
- Minimum GCSEs in Maths and English, with a preference for higher education in Built Environment.

We value in-person collaboration and culture but support flexible working where feasible. All staff expectations can be discussed during the interview process. Roles may require truck/unload access for regular site visits and travel.
Compensation Package
- Competitive basic salary + annual bonus aligned with goals.
