Shape the delivery of major building services projects across Scotland
Balfour Beatty Kilpatrick Scotland is growing, and with an increase in workload and a strong pipeline of new projects, we are looking for an experienced Contracts Manager to join our team based from Balfour Beatty’s Head Office at Maxim Park, Eurocentral.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a strong MEP Building Services professional to take ownership of key contracts, lead high-performing teams, build trusted client relationships and help deliver complex projects safely, efficiently and commercially.
As Contracts Manager, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of our work across Scotland, ensuring the right plans, resources, processes and relationships are in place to support long-term, profitable and sustainable contract performance.
What you'll be doing
You will be responsible for leading the delivery and development of contracts, managing client expectations and ensuring projects are delivered in line with safety, quality, commercial and operational requirements. The role will involve managing production, construction, operational support and stakeholder relationships across the contract.
You’ll also be responsible for developing business plans and strategies, securing the right resources, monitoring financial performance, managing key customer and supplier relationships, and identifying opportunities to maximise value, margin and future growth.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Lead the successful delivery of contracts across BBK Scotland’s growing MEP Building Services portfolio.
- Manage client relationships, expectations and key stakeholder engagement.
- Develop contract strategies, business plans and delivery plans.
- Ensure service agreements, KPIs and contractual requirements are achieved.
- Monitor and control financial performance, including cost, margin and profit.
- Secure and manage the right resources to deliver the contract effectively.
- Lead, motivate and get the best out of project and delivery teams.
- Manage key suppliers and support complex contract negotiations.
- Ensure full compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental legislation and Balfour Beatty standards.
- Identify opportunities for growth, improvement and additional value across the contract.
Who we're looking for
About You
We are looking for someone with significant previous contract management experience within MEP Building Services. You will be confident managing contracts, leading people, influencing stakeholders and working closely with senior management.
You’ll Bring
- Strong MEP Building Services experience
- Proven contract management experience.
- Strong people management and leadership skills.
- Experience managing projects and contract delivery.
- Strong commercial awareness, including financial control, margin and profit.
- Excellent client and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong negotiation skills and supplier management experience.
- The ability to manage priorities and work on your own initiative.
- Confidence communicating, presenting and influencing across cross-functional teams.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- A full UK driving licence.
