I am currently recruiting on behalf of a reputable main contractor who operate within the building and facility management sectors. They work on projects such as schools, academies, colleges, universities, housing, and in the care sector. They are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Contracts Manager to lead the organization, negotiation, and management of contractual agreements across various projects. In this pivotal role, you will ensure all contracts align with company policies, legal standards, and strategic objectives. Your expertise will drive successful partnerships, mitigate risks, and foster transparent communication between stakeholders. Salary negotiable DOE between £65,000 - £75,000 p/a + package. This will be a full-time role both office and site based as required, centred near Portsmouth, Hampshire.

Duties

  • Draft, review, negotiate, and finalize a wide range of contracts including procurement, service agreements, and partnership arrangements.
  • Collaborate closely with legal teams to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Manage the entire contract lifecycle from initiation through renewal or termination, maintaining meticulous records.
  • Identify potential contractual risks and develop strategies to mitigate them proactively.
  • Coordinate with internal departments such as procurement, finance, and project management to align contractual obligations with business goals.
  • Monitor contract performance and enforce compliance with contractual terms and conditions.
  • Provide guidance and training to team members on contract procedures and best practices.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in contract management within a fast-paced environment, ideally in building and facility management projects
  • Strong understanding of legal terminology, contract law, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to influence outcomes positively.
  • Exceptional attention to detail combined with organizational prowess to manage multiple contracts simultaneously.
  • Effective communication skills for clear articulation of contractual terms to diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
