Contracts Manager – Reading Area (Permanent Full-Time)

About the Role

Join Trant Engineering and help shape the delivery of complex, high-impact projects.

Trant Engineering is a leading EPC contractor with a strong reputation for delivering innovative engineering solutions across the UK and internationally. With over 1,000 employees and a £150m turnover, we’re growing—and are now looking for a Contracts Manager to play a key role in our project delivery teams.

As a Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Commercial and contractual management of multiple engineering projects
  • Ensuring projects are delivered within budget, on time, and in accordance with contractual obligations
  • Providing commercial guidance to project teams
  • Managing client and subcontractor relationships
  • Mitigating contractual and project delivery risks

Responsibilities

1. Technical Responsibilities – Contract & Commercial Management

  • Manage successful project delivery and commercial performance across projects
  • Manage projects under specific contract terms (e.g., NEC 4), ensuring compliance and proactive contract management
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders (e.g., transmission operators, network operators, EPC partners, and fuel/gas operators)
  • Ensure project delivery aligns with client business plans and programme constraints
  • Monitor and report on project performance (cost, schedule, safety, carbon, customer impact)
  • Support resolution of risks/issues related to technical, commercial, or programme challenges
  • Drive consistent application of company processes, systems, and best practice
  • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and company standards
  • Develop and implement processes for contract administration, risk management, and reporting
  • Support audits, inspections, and quality assessments relating to contracts

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
