Controls Engineer | Siemens TIA Portal | 9-Month Contract | £60 p/h | Outside IR35 | UK-Wide Travel | Expenses Paid | 5 days on site
We're recruiting for an experienced Controls & Automation Engineer to support the delivery of automation projects across the UK water and wastewater sector. This is an initial 9-month contract operating Outside IR35, with all travel, accommodation, and business expenses fully covered.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and modify PLC and HMI software using Siemens TIA Portal.
- Carry out Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), system commissioning and fault diagnosis.
- Support the integration of PLC, HMI and SCADA systems while optimising existing control solutions.
- Work closely with engineers, site teams and end clients throughout project delivery.

Required Experience
- Strong experience programming Siemens S7-1200 & S7-1500 PLCs using TIA Portal.
- Proven background delivering automation or controls projects within the water or wastewater industry.
- Hands-on commissioning experience on live process plants.
- Knowledge of HMI and SCADA integration.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs and control system documentation.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to customer sites nationwide.
