Control & Instrumentation Technician (HVAC)
Location: Sizewell B, Leiston, Suffolk
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time (37.5 hours/week)
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
About the Role
Dalkia UK is seeking a skilled and motivated Control & Instrumentation (C&I) Technician specialising in HVAC systems to join our team at Sizewell B Power Station. Working within our long-term partnership with EDF Energy, you will play a key role in maintaining critical infrastructure in a highly regulated, safety-focused environment. This is a hands-on and technically demanding position, ideal for an engineer who enjoys problem-solving and takes pride in delivering high standards of work.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform reactive and planned maintenance on a wide range of HVAC systems, instrumentation, and control equipment.
- Diagnose faults and implement effective solutions based on operational reports and helpdesk requests.
- Support the maintenance and reliability of HVAC systems across site facilities, including office and welfare areas.
- Assist in the upkeep and repair of mechanical plant, including pumps, compressors, fans, motors, drives, pneumatic controls, and pressurisation systems.
- Ensure all activities are carried out in strict compliance with health, safety, and quality standards, particularly within a nuclear-licensed environment.
- Participate in continuous training to maintain site competency and professional certifications.

About You
You are a proactive and hands-on engineer with a strong foundation in mechanical and/or control & instrumentation engineering. Ideally, you have experience in a heavy industrial, energy, utilities, or nuclear setting and demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, precision, and continuous improvement.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- Recognised apprenticeship or NVQ in Control & Instrumentation (or equivalent practical experience).
- Experience working within heavy industrial or manufacturing environments.
- Competence in both mechanical systems and electrical systems.
- Solid understanding of health & safety regulations and industry best practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS).
