Control & Monitoring Asset Strategy Mgr

Senior Manager – Control and Monitoring Systems

Location: Glasgow Salary: £66,000–£82,000 (up to 20% bonus, private healthcare, and 15% pension) Type: Permanent, Hybrid (2–3 days in office per week)

About the Role

Join ScottishPower Energy Networks and help redefine digital energy infrastructure in the UK’s transition to a low-carbon energy landscape. We’re seeking an experienced Senior Manager to lead the strategic direction of control and monitoring systems across a transmission and distribution network, shaping innovation, driving data-driven decision-making, and influencing industry-wide standards.

This leadership role offers the chance to drive transformative change, working at the intersection of technology, regulation, and asset management to ensure network resilience, efficiency, and future-readiness.

Key Responsibilities

Responsible for defining and executing a forward-thinking strategy for control and monitoring systems, ensuring alignment with asset management objectives. Your remit will include:

Strategic Leadership & Policy Development

  • Shape and implement long-term strategies for control systems and network monitoring, embedding digitalisation and data-driven insights into operational decision-making.
  • Develop robust asset risk and performance methodologies and define asset management policies, ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks (including cyber security).
  • Collate evidence-based investment cases for control and monitoring infrastructure, maintaining network resilience and efficiency for a flexible, decentralised energy system.

Regulatory & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as a key interface with regulatory bodies, representing the organisation in industry forums and shaping control systems and network monitoring standards.
  • Influence high-value strategic decisions, balancing risks, performance metrics, and regulatory compliance.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
