Job Title: Control Room Operator – FTC Maternity Cover (10 months)

Salary:
£13.45 p/h
Shift Pattern:
5 out of 6 days per week (covering Mon-Sat) with 8-hour shifts - Rotating between 6am-2pm & 10am-6pm

We are delighted to announce a brand new and exciting contract, and we're seeking Security Control Room Operators to join us at the very start of this journey. As a Control Room Operator, you'll be at the heart of our operations. You will coordinate coverage for our security guard teams, engage directly with regional operations managers regarding site coverage, manage shift schedules, log activities, conduct welfare check-ins, and handle incident reports. You'll use our ticketing portal for seamless communication and record keeping. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys problem-solving and working as part of a close-knit, professional team.
Your Main Responsibilities
- Arrange Security Guard Coverage: Respond quickly to requests for security coverage and ensure every site is supported. Engage with regional operations managers to assess site needs and confirm that coverage aligns with operational requirements. Build strong working relationships with officers and maintain a database of their skills and availability.
- Manage Shift Schedules: Use scheduling software to create and update shift rosters, making sure each site is always well-staffed. Adapt quickly to sudden changes or emergencies.
- Log and Dispatch Jobs: Record all tasks, incidents, and welfare checks in our digital portal. Assign responsibilities to the right people and follow up to make sure everything runs smoothly.
- Welfare Check-in Calls: Stay in regular contact with sites and officers, checking their wellbeing and resolving concerns. Escalate any issues to supervisors when needed.
- Report Incidents: Receive and document reports of suspicious activity or incidents. Prepare clear and timely incident reports for management and our clients.
- Effective Communication: Act as a key contact for officers, sites, supervisors, and regional operations managers. Share important updates and maintain professionalism in all interactions.
- Accurate Record Keeping: Keep thorough records of all activities and regularly review for accuracy and compliance with standards and regulations.

What We're Looking For
- Experience: Previous experience in a control room, scheduling, or security administration is helpful, but we provide full training for the right candidate.
- Tech Skills: Confident with computers and quick to learn new systems, including scheduling and ticketing platforms.
- Communication: Clear written and spoken English, with the ability to work with all kinds of people, including operations managers and field personnel.
- Attention to Detail: Organised, able to multitask, and focused on accuracy.
- Team Player: Works well with others and helps create a positive, supportive team environment.
- Problem-Solver: Stays calm under pressure and can prioritise tasks effectively.
- Flexible: Willing to work rotating shifts
- Trustworthy: Handles sensitive information with care and professionalism.
Essential
- Applicants must have a 5-year checkable history.
- You must successfully pass a PSNI check as per BS5979 and BS7858 screening as per industry standard.
