Control Room Shift Manager

Control Room Shift Manager – CCTV

Location: Cabot Circus, Bristol

Salary: £16.22 per hour

Shift Pattern: 4 on, 4 off (07:00–19:00 & 19:00–07:00)

About the Role & Purpose

You will join the team at Hammerson’s Cabot Circus Shopping Centre, a bustling and vibrant retail hub. As the Control Room Shift Manager, you will be responsible for the live operation of the CCTV team, ensuring the secure, safe, and efficient functioning of the centre. This critical role requires SIA CCTV Licence holders who are organised, proactive, and passionate about delivering excellent customer service and securing public spaces.


Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Leadership:

    • Oversee all Mitie on-site security teams within common, public areas of the shopping centre.
    • Manage client emergency and evacuation procedures efficiently and assuredly.
  • Supervision & Accountability:

    • Supervise staff attendance, health/safety, and welfare.
    • Act as the principal point of contact for client board-level communication regarding incidents or operational issues.
  • Incident & Compliance Management:

    • Log, track, and effectively resolve incidents with transparency and professionalism.
    • Update daily/flash reports, absence/lateness records, and systems fault logs.
    • Maintain compliance with CCTV policy (including auditing trails).
    • Ensure secure key management and adherence to access/egress policies.

  • Communication & Coordination:

    • Respond to phone/email enquiries clearly and efficiently.
    • Engage with local services/agencies to strengthen community safety protocols.
    • Maintain consistent open communication with Cabot’s Centre Manager and clients.
  • System & Technical Mastery:

    • ensuring proper accreditation, operational standards, and seamless property function.
  • Personnel Authority & Proactive Measures:

    • Provide support/training to junior team members as needed.
    • Ensure business continuity by emerging resilient during critical operational challenges.
    • Outside responsibilities may arise from senior management/client.

Requirements

Essential Qualifications & Skills

  • Current SIA CCTV Licence (non-negotiable).
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, and reporting tools are encouraged).
  • Trained in emergency procedures (fire, medical, and evacuation practices).

Personal & Professional Attributes

  • Highly organised, reliable, and punctual—shift adherence is critical.
  • Ability to make autonomous yet accountable decisions under pressure.
  • Great communicator: Clear andmeasured with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong line management skills (ability to support, guide, and encourage staff).
  • Attention to detail ensures incident reports and logs are accurate and complete.
  • Positive attitude with superior problem-solving ability.
  • A motivational leader who fosters a cohesive team culture.
  • Flexible—adaptable to changes in demand/survival challenges.

Desired (Not Mandatory)

  • Industry experience (environments or properties of a similar scale helps).
  • Experience providing frontline customer service in a high-traffic location.
