About the Company

Our client has nearly 40 years of experience in manufacturing bespoke automation and robotic systems for various industrial applications. They are a leading provider of automation system solutions in the UK. Due to their continued success and planned strategic growth, they are recruiting a Control Software Engineer to join their professional team and deliver machine control system solutions for automated machinery projects.

Job Responsibilities

  • Writing and developing software
  • PLC and HMI coding for automation projects
  • Electrical design and creation of machine control system solutions for special purpose automated machinery projects
  • Delivering control and safety systems compliant with machinery directive and relevant standards
  • Electrical system design, component selection, and generating detailed circuit diagrams
  • Integration of various robots, including SCARA, Delta, and 6-axis
  • Liaison with customers, suppliers, and team members

Required Skills and Experience

  • At least 5 years of experience in software design and PLC coding
  • Experience with Omron, Siemens, and Allen Bradley equipment is advantageous
  • Comprehensive skills and experience in electrical design for machine automation using ePlan
  • Knowledge of national and international electrical standards for machine design and safety systems
  • Degree or equivalent in electrical/electronic engineering or related control system discipline
