An established global engineering and automation specialist is looking to expand its European team with a Controls & Automation Engineer. With a proven track record of delivering advanced control systems integration projects across 40+ countries, the company prides itself on technical excellence, innovation, and high-performance industrial solutions.
The Role
This hands-on engineering role covers the full lifecycle of control system projects, from design and development to testing and commissioning.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Design, program, test, and commission PLC control systems
- Develop SCADA and HMI applications
- Troubleshoot and optimise existing automation systems
- Support installation and commissioning activities
- Work with modern SCADA platforms such as Ignition and WinCC
- Contribute to control strategies and system architecture

The Person
We’re looking for a Control Systems Engineer with the following skills and experience:
- Strong skillset in writing PLC & HMI from concept
- Preferably competent in SCADA software design
- Ability to understand and modify electrical drawings
- Site experience, including commissioning experience
- Autonomous working capability
- Excellent customer-facing skills
An advantage will be:
- Proficiency in Siemens TIA Portal
Benefits
This is an office-based role with the following benefits:
- Standard working hours: 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM (Early Friday finishes)
- Fully expensed travel, including an £6k annual travel allowance on a 25% travel schedule
- TOIL (Time Off In Lieu) for weekends worked or spent on Job
- 5% pension, 24 days holiday (plus bank holidays)
- Annual Profit Share of up to £1-3k
