Controls Engineer - Siemens/Rockwell
£40-45k + Bonus, Pension, Mileage
South West - Hybrid working post-probation

A growing automation and engineering services business is looking to recruit a Controls Engineer to support the delivery of industrial automation projects across the FMCG, food & beverage and pharmaceutical sectors.
This role offers the opportunity to work across the full project lifecycle, from customer requirements gathering and software development through to commissioning and final handover. The position combines home-based software development with regular visits to the South West office and customer sites throughout the UK.
Projects range from new installations through to upgrades and commissioning across major UK manufacturers.
Controls Engineer - The Role
- Develop and modify PLC, HMI and SCADA software for industrial automation projects
- Assist in the production of Functional Design Specifications (FDS)
- Support control system design and network architecture
- Commission and fault-find automation systems on customer sites
- Produce project documentation including RAMS and technical reports
- Work closely with customers to understand operational requirements and deliver effective solutions
- Support projects through all stages of design, development and implementation

Projects are typically within FMCG and pharmaceutical manufacturing, often involving process systems for product flow, mixing, and packaging operations.
Controls Engineer - The Person
- 3-5 years' experience within industrial automation, controls or software engineering
- Experience programming Siemens and/or Allen Bradley PLCs
- Knowledge of HMI and SCADA systems
- Comfortable working in a customer-facing environment
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Full UK driving licence
- Willingness to travel throughout the UK and occasionally stay away when required
