Control Systems Engineer - UXV Platforms

Are you a detail-focused, hands-on, Control Systems Engineer with a passion for drones? Joining us as Control Systems Engineer, you will have an opportunity to support the system analysis, modelling, design and delivery of our UXV navigation co-pilot platform. Our UXV platform operates autonomously in challenging environments, in civil and military use cases.

About your role

What you’ll be owning: Designing, implementing and testing the control systems required for UXV navigation and control Setting up models, tools and processes to facilitate rapid design, implementation and validation of new features Continuously improving related systems, processes and tools To succeed in this role, you must have: Excellent understanding of control systems (state estimation, guidance, control, etc.) Experience with simulation of complex dynamic systems Strong understanding of sensor fusion and navigation (EKF etc.) Knowledge of a scripting language (preferably Python) Strong technical and analytical skills, with a logical approach to problem solving and presentation of information Relevant degree in a Maths, Physics or Engineering based subject Eligibility and willingness to undergo future full security clearance (SC) Bonus if you have: Experience in designing, developing and testing embedded software and hardware control systems for UAV, UXV, autonomous driving or aerospace applications Working knowledge of C/C++ Experience working with ROS or robotics sensors (IMU, GPS/GNSS, LIDAR, RADAR, Cameras, etc.) Experience with model-based design and modelling tools such as UML and/or SysML Understanding of state-space control and advanced controller architectures (robust control etc.) By joining us, you'll have The ability to make a measurable difference in the creation of cutting-edge technology in a rapidly growing start-up Fast-paced environment with a world-class, positive, talented, and high-achieving team Forward-thinking, supportive culture with company off-site strategic alignment World-class growth opportunities and training resources including self-development days Merit-based compensation 5% employer pension contribution 25 days holiday + UK bank holidays Medical insurance Relocation Support Package Team socials A variety of perks that are evolving: Free Monday team lunch, Cycle2work scheme, access to your favourite app subscription, plus many more in the works!
