Controls Engineer

Pay: £45,000.00-£60,000.00 per year

Our Team and What We Do

We design, build, and deliver automation projects across a range of sectors, efficiently and successfully. We are a market leader in Controls and Automation Solutions.

Your Role and What You’ll Be Doing

In this role, you will work on projects in Warehousing, Airport baggage, Automotive, and Process Controls environments. You will be involved from the early stages of projects with input to tenders and by writing Functional Design Specifications. You will follow this through software build, in-house testing with Emulation (FAT), on-site commissioning, handover (SAT), and go-live support – all with the support of our engineering team.

As a Controls Engineer, you will deliver technical solutions that meet the customers’ needs, compliant with industry standards. Your week will be a combination of site visits and office collaboration. You will be working with PLCs/HMIs/Drives/Robots. You will already have experience and be competent working on low voltage control systems from either installations/modifications/fault finding, experience of software build from scratch/library, on-site commissioning, and customer witness testing.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
