Controls Commissioning Engineer
The Controls Commissioning Engineer will be responsible for the design, implementation, commissioning, and support of controls systems for material handling and automation projects, working both on-site and remotely.

Tasks and Qualifications
General Responsibilities:
- To develop, implement, and support hardware/software solutions for Modernisation and Upgrade projects
- To provide a complete controls design solution for a material handling project including electrical design, software design, and commissioning – whilst ensuring the solution meets the requirements of the project and is carried out within cost and time scale constraints
- To maintain Dematic’s image as a top-quality, professional company, by adopting an honest, professional, and attentive approach
- To understand the constraints of working on live sites and provide solutions that minimize the disruptions to client operations whilst working within the project scope
- To provide support, attend to system faults, and perform investigation and fault rectification where necessary
- To provide 24-hour x 7-day x 52-week emergency remote support cover as part of a pre-arranged rota
- To perform site supervisory duties on projects when required
- To support the sales team with controls costings and design concepts
- Recommending spare parts
- To ensure a consistent approach across projects for electrical design, software design, and commissioning activities
- To take responsibility for controlling budgets and time constraints on projects
- To hold controls design reviews
- To assist in developing and maintaining departmental procedures and standards, promoting a continuous improvement culture

Electrical Design:
- To interpret design input information to produce control system designs
- Production of all associated documentation including, but not limited to, design calculations, design/safety specifications, operation, and maintenance manuals
- Design and production of electrical layout and schematic drawings using appropriate CAD tools
- Procurement of electrical equipment including control panels and field devices
- Liaising with suppliers on technical matters
- Produce ITT’s and liaise with electrical installation supervisors and subcontractors
Qualifications & Experience:
- Educational background in Electrical/Controls Engineering as a minimum
- Desirable: Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline
- Experience in a similar role
- Good understanding of PLC, HMI, SCADA development, and commissioning software
- Hands-on experience with electrical commissioning
- Good understanding of Electrical and Electronic technical manuals & drawings
- Good understanding of bus systems
- Understanding of distributed control systems desirable not essential
- Understanding of automated warehouse desirable not essential
- Ability to travel to customer sites for up to 80% of the time, both domestically and internationally
- Full driver’s license to support the travel requirements of the role
- Bachelor or Master degree in Engineering

Special Conditions:
- Role will require 80% travel to customer sites within the EMEA European region including travel to other Dematic offices or facilities across Europe in the undertaking of duties.
