Job Description

L&G Retail is seeking a Conversion Rate Optimisation (CRO) Manager to drive strategic improvement across our Direct Protection customer journeys.

This role is ideal for someone passionate about data-driven experimentation, customer insight, and digital optimisation. You’ll lead the CRO roadmap, oversee A/B and multivariate testing, and collaborate with cross-functional teams (digital, product, compliance, marketing, analytics, development) to enhance efficiency and commercial outcomes. Financial services experience isn’t mandatory—CRO expertise, analytical rigor, and commercial acumen matter most.


What You’ll Be Doing

  • Define and deliver the Direct Protection CRO strategy, focusing on conversion, customer experience (CX) and financial impact.
  • Own the full experimentation lifecycle:
    • Hypothesis generation, prioritisation, and QA
    • Test deployment, analysis, and insight-driven recommendations
  • Build and maintain a data-aligned CRO backlog, linking to customer insights, analytics, and business priorities.
  • Identify friction points using qualitative and quantitative data, proposing next-best actions to boost conversions.
  • Collaborate with teams across development, analytics, compliance, marketing, and external partners to refine high-impact experiments.
  • Translate test results, insights, and commercial benefits clearly for stakeholders at all levels.
  • Champion best practice in CRO, personalisation, predictive modelling, and automation across omnichannel journeys.
  • Explore emerging techniques to scale optimisation efforts efficiently.

Who We’re Looking For

✔ Proven CRO experience – Hands-on management of AB/n/e testing, experimentation frameworks (e.g., Adobe Target, Optimizely, VWO). ✔ Strong analytics skills – Proficiency in Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, or equivalent, with a SQL/BI tool comfort zone. ✔ Strategy ownership – Experience shaping CRO roadmaps or managing experimentation backlogs. ✔ UX/CX mindset – Deep understanding of customer behaviour trends, conversion best practice. ✔ Collaborative leadership – Ability to work with developers, data teams, compliance, product, and marketing to implement stakeholder-supported tests. ✔ Data storytelling – Skills to distil complex analytics into clear recommendations, proving measurable business value. 🚀 Plus Factors (Not essential):

  • Front-end development familiarity (HTML/CSS, JavaScript)
  • Session replay/heat maps (e.g., Hotjar, Crazy Egg)
  • Usability testing methodologies
  • Agile/Scrum alignment in structuring workflows
