Convertible Bond Sales

Responsibilities

  • Support the growth of Daiwa Securities Group’s convertible bonds franchise through coverage of institutional clients.
  • Generate and execute trades in primary and secondary convertible bond markets, with a focus on client service and revenue generation.
  • Work in coordination with colleagues in London, Frankfurt and Hong Kong.
  • Cover and develop relationships with institutional investors, including asset managers, hedge funds, and other relevant accounts.
  • Maintain strong client engagement and help develop CB franchise in European hours.
  • Source and execute secondary market CB trades and related activity.
  • Deliver market updates and trading ideas based on valuation, credit, capital structure, volatility, and relative value analysis.
  • Market new CB issuance and support book-building, allocation, and post-deal follow-up.
  • Ensure seamless coverage of accounts across Asian and London / Frankfurt hours working closely with trading teams across regions.

Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in convertible bonds sales, or a related equity derivative / fixed income sales role.
  • Strong understanding of convertible bond structures, valuation, and trading mechanics.
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain institutional client relationships.
  • Strong commercial acumen, with a track record of generating ideas and contributing to revenue.
  • Broad knowledge of capital markets, including credit, equity, rates, and volatility.
  • Able to work effectively across time zones and in a collaborative, international environment.
  • Proficiency in market data systems and Microsoft Excel; familiarity with relevant pricing and analytics tools is desirable.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business, mathematics, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in convertible bond sales, derivative sales, credit sales, or a similar role.
  • Strong existing network of institutional investor relationships preferred.
