Role: Conveyancing Assistant

Location: Keighley

Salary: £25,000 – £30,000pa – depending on experience

Hours: Monday-Friday, 8.30am-5.00pm (flexible hours available)

Are you ready to take the next step in your legal career? Our client, a well-established and highly regarded property law firm based in Keighley, is seeking an experienced Conveyancing Assistant to join their dynamic and forward-thinking team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to become an integral part of a thriving legal practice, supporting a busy property department across both residential and commercial conveyancing matters. You’ll work alongside experienced professionals in a collaborative environment that values growth, precision, and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities Of The Conveyancing Assistant

  • Supporting partners through digital dictation and timely document production.
  • Opening new client matters and inputting accurate details into the Case Management System.
  • Managing incoming calls and handling daily post to ensure smooth office communication.
  • Drafting letters, legal documents, and client correspondence with a high level of accuracy.
  • Assisting in contract management, including preparing responses to enquiries.
  • Coordinating key conveyancing tasks such as ordering searches, managing exchanges, and setting up completions.
  • Preparing and issuing mortgage reports to clients ahead of completion deadlines.
  • Performing a range of administrative duties including photocopying, filing, and archiving to maintain organised case files.

Skills / Experience Required For The Role

  • Previous experience in a similar role such as Conveyancing Assistant, Legal Secretary, Conveyancing Secretary, or Legal Assistant is highly desirable.
  • A minimum of 12 months’ hands on experience in conveyancing.
  • Proficient in using legal case management systems and general IT tools.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a professional and client-focused approach.
  • Excellent organisational abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and meet tight deadlines under pressure.
