Residential Conveyancing Assistant

We're working with a well-established and highly regarded law firm looking to recruit a Conveyancing Assistant to join their busy Residential Conveyancing team in Northampton.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous conveyancing or legal support experience to join a supportive and professional environment, assisting fee earners with residential property transactions from instruction through to post-completion.

The Role

We are seeking a Conveyancing Assistant to provide essential support to the Residential Conveyancing team, helping to ensure transactions progress smoothly and clients receive an excellent standard of service throughout the process.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting fee earners with the day-to-day management of residential conveyancing files
  • Supporting transactions from instruction through to completion and post-completion
  • Handling client enquiries and providing professional support via telephone, email, and in person
  • Liaising with estate agents, mortgage lenders, solicitors, and other third parties throughout transactions
  • Preparing and drafting standard correspondence and legal documentation
  • Assisting with file opening procedures and preparing initial client documentation
  • Undertaking AML and client due diligence checks
  • Providing conveyancing quotations to prospective clients and supporting new business enquiries
  • Assisting with Land Registry applications, post-completion work, and file closure procedures
  • Maintaining accurate records using the firm's case management system
  • Assisting with general administrative duties including filing, scanning, and post management

About You

  • Previous experience within a conveyancing or legal support environment
  • Good understanding of the residential conveyancing process
  • Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and client care skills
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to prioritise workload and work effectively in a busy office environment
  • Experience using legal case management systems is advantageous
