About Trethowans LLP:

Trethowans is a leading law firm with a strong presence across the South of England. With a history spanning over 150 years, we are known for delivering outstanding legal advice with a personal touch.

We are currently looking for a Conveyancing Assistant to join our busy and friendly Residential Property team. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a modern and growing firm.

The Role:

You will support our busy residential conveyancing department, assisting with a caseload of property transactions from instruction through to completion. This is a great opportunity for someone with a passion for property law and an interest in building a legal career. Your duties will include:

  • Assisting fee earners with managing residential conveyancing transactions.
  • Opening and closing files, updating case management systems.
  • Drafting documents and correspondence.
  • Communicating with clients, solicitors, estate agents, and mortgage lenders.
  • Handling post-completion tasks, including SDLT submissions and Land Registry applications.
  • Ensuring compliance with internal procedures and regulatory requirements.

About You:

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Experience in a conveyancing or legal support role is desirable.
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage your time effectively and prioritise tasks.
  • Professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with conveyancing software is a plus.
  • A strong communicator with excellent client service skills.
  • Capable of working independently and within a team.
  • Comfortable using their initiative and identifying areas for improvement.
