Department: Conveyancer Support Team

Location: Newport

Compensation: £30,000 - £35,000 / year

Description

We are seeking an experienced Conveyancer with title check experience to join our Title Checking Team on a permanent basis. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of all transaction types and the experience to title check to high standards with minimum tuition and supervision. The candidate must also possess experience and confidence in handling post-related tasks for conveyancers, including reporting on management packs, mortgage offers and searches, as well as dealing with replies to enquiries.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • To check the title to Freehold, Leasehold, and New Build titles in accordance with the criteria set by the department from time to time.
  • To meet the time scale and billing targets set by the department.
  • To raise any necessary and pertinent enquiries as required.
  • To report on the title to the premises to the client in a comprehensive and cohesive manner.
  • To liaise with the live conveyancing teams and provide them with information for complex transactions as they arise.
  • To assist with post for the conveyancing teams, including dealing with replies to enquiries, management packs, mortgage offers and searches.
  • To assist with auditing work as and when required by management.
  • To assist with any other work as assigned by the Title Checking Manager.

The Individual

We are seeking someone who has a strong attention to detail, is hardworking, with the ability to use their own initiative and work within tight deadlines.

To be considered for this role, your CV should demonstrate the following essential skills:

  • 3 years experience working in conveyancing practice
  • 3 years title checking experience
  • 3 years experience managing case files in your own name
  • Leaseholds: 2 years experience
  • New Builds: 1 year experience
  • Auditing: 1 year experience

  • Copes effectively in demanding circumstances.
  • Demonstrates persistence and commitment to completing tasks and objectives.
  • Pays attention to detail and quality of work.
  • Confident in building and maintaining strong working relationships with staff of all levels of seniority.
  • Demonstrate a ‘can-do’ attitude including a willingness to help others within the company.
  • Able to communicate to colleagues and external stakeholders in writing in a clear, constructive, and professional way.
  • Excellent customer communication skills including the ability to resolve complaints or escalations.
  • Demonstrates sound judgement and good decision-making when dealing with problems.
  • Able to identify a problem arising and can develop a solution and seek guidance or input before acting.
  • Looks for new solutions to problems as well as tried and tested methods.
  • Willing to ask questions, listen to others’ views and accept advice.
