HSBC is one of the largest banking and financial services organisations in the world, with operations in 64 countries and territories. We aim to be where the growth is, enabling businesses to thrive and economies to prosper, and, ultimately, helping people to fulfil their hopes and realise their ambitions.

We are currently seeking a professional to join our team in the role of COO Change Oversight Lead-Securities Services

Securities Services is a core part of Markets & Securities Services, providing essential services to many of the world’s leading asset managers, asset owners, banks and broker dealers. We help clients access markets, protect assets, manage risk and operate efficiently across increasingly complex and interconnected markets.

This is a senior delivery and oversight role, responsible for leading and governing a portfolio of priority business change initiatives across Securities Services. The successful candidate will oversee the execution of complex programmes and projects, with a particular focus on business-critical change and COO driven, ensuring delivery is well governed, commercially informed, operationally practical and aligned to business priorities.

As an HSBC employee in the UK, you will have access to tailored professional development opportunities and a competitive pay and benefits package. This includes private healthcare for all UK-based employees, enhanced maternity and adoption pay and support when you return to work, and a contributory pension scheme with a generous employer contribution.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
