Cook 1 Opportunity at Fox Covert Primary School
Salary: £25,661 - £25,924 (pro rata for part-time and sessional) Hours: Sessional – 10 hours per week, 38 weeks per session
About the Role
Our Cook 1/Catering Assistant plays a vital part in delivering high-quality catering services at Fox Covert Primary School. Working collaboratively as part of the team, you will provide:
- A range of hot and cold meals
- Basic food preparation
- exceptional customer care to pupils, staff, and visiting guests
This is a regulated post working with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
Essential Requirements & Eligibility
To apply, you must be able to detail:
- Experience (or willingness to learn) in basic food cooking and preparation
- Ability to work safely within a school/kitchen environment (including hygiene and food safety)
- A flexible and attentive approach to supporting students' dietary needs
Pre-employment Checks
All successful candidates will be required to successfully complete:
✔ PVG Scheme clearance – Those already registered or needing an update, plus ✔ An overseas criminal record check (if applicable) for candidates who spent at least three continuous months outside the UK in the last five years
An unconditional offer of employment will be dependent on satisfactory completion of both checks.
