Cook Working Hours: 22.5-hour contract with weekends and Bank Holidays on a rota basis Location: Glangwili Hospital, Carmarthen


About the Role

An exciting Catering opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Cook to join our hard-working team at Hywel Dda University Health Board. You’ll play a key role in providing high-quality meals for patients, staff, and visitors in a fast-paced, hospital kitchen setting.


Key Responsibilities

  • Work in a team-driven commercial kitchen producing nutritious, patient-friendly meals.
  • Manage special dietary requirements (experience is advantageous).
  • Demonstrate flexibility, strong communication skills, and a commitment to service excellence.
  • Maintain high hygiene standards and ensure food safety protocols are followed.

Requirements

  • A City & Guilds 706 (1 & 2) Food Preparation qualification, NVQ Level 3 in Food Preparation, or equivalent.
  • Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (essential).
  • Ability to work weekend rotations and bank holidays ( Punta system).

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in hospital catering.
  • Fluency in Welsh (influences application consideration).
