Contract type: Full time, 42 hours per week

Rate: £13.27 per hour

Are you an experienced Cook looking for a new challenge?

Join Wheldale Heights care home in Castleford as our new Cook.

In this role, you’ll cook delicious, healthy, and nutritious meals for the people we support.

Meal times are an important part of our daily routine, even more so for those living in care homes. You’ll ensure everyone has a positive dining experience, increasing nutritional intake, promoting social interaction, and building a sense of community. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference every day.

About the Role

Our Cooks prepare and serve delicious, nourishing meals tailored to a variety of dietary requirements. No day is the same, but your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing, cooking, and serving food
  • Understanding individual needs, preferences, and dietary requirements
  • Developing and adjusting menus based on feedback
  • Complying with food hygiene standards
  • Maintaining records and completing checks
  • Working closely with our Catering Team

You’ll put people at the heart of everything you do. We guarantee great rewards for every contribution.

For those new to the care sector, induction, buddy support, and ongoing training are provided to help you settle in quickly.

About You

  • A strong passion for cooking, with experience creating delicious and nutritious meals for diverse diets
  • Creativity in menu development and food preparation
  • Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills

While a food hygiene certificate and catering qualification are preferred, they are not mandatory.
