Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:30 – 14:00
About The Role
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Cook to join our catering team at Castle Hill Centre in Bolton.
Working within a busy school and café environment, you will support the Cook Supervisor in delivering high-quality meals and hospitality services while maintaining excellent standards of food safety, hygiene, and customer service.
This is a hands-on role that would suit someone who enjoys preparing fresh food, working as part of a team, and takes pride in delivering a great service to customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook school meals and café food to a high standard
- Assist with menu planning and ensure nutritional requirements are met
- Support the delivery of hospitality catering for meetings, conferences, and events
- Maintain food safety, allergen, and hygiene standards at all times
- Complete food safety records and temperature checks
- Order, receive, and manage stock effectively
- Serve customers and provide excellent customer service
- Carry out general kitchen duties including cleaning and washing up
- Support and guide catering team members where required
- Assist with cash and card reconciliation processes
- Cover the Cook Supervisor's duties when required

What We're Looking For
- Food Safety Level 2 Certificate
- Previous experience in a catering, school meals, café, or hospitality environment
- Experience supervising or supporting a small team
- Good understanding of food hygiene and health & safety requirements
- Strong organisational skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Positive attitude with a customer-focused approach
- Reliable, flexible, and a strong team player
