Location: Castle Hill Centre, Bolton, BL2 2JT

Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:30 – 14:00

About The Role

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Cook to join our catering team at Castle Hill Centre in Bolton.

Working within a busy school and café environment, you will support the Cook Supervisor in delivering high-quality meals and hospitality services while maintaining excellent standards of food safety, hygiene, and customer service.

This is a hands-on role that would suit someone who enjoys preparing fresh food, working as part of a team, and takes pride in delivering a great service to customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook school meals and café food to a high standard
  • Assist with menu planning and ensure nutritional requirements are met
  • Support the delivery of hospitality catering for meetings, conferences, and events
  • Maintain food safety, allergen, and hygiene standards at all times
  • Complete food safety records and temperature checks
  • Order, receive, and manage stock effectively
  • Serve customers and provide excellent customer service
  • Carry out general kitchen duties including cleaning and washing up
  • Support and guide catering team members where required
  • Assist with cash and card reconciliation processes
  • Cover the Cook Supervisor's duties when required

What We're Looking For

  • Food Safety Level 2 Certificate
  • Previous experience in a catering, school meals, café, or hospitality environment
  • Experience supervising or supporting a small team
  • Good understanding of food hygiene and health & safety requirements
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Positive attitude with a customer-focused approach
  • Reliable, flexible, and a strong team player
